Have you ever been out some place and you see somebody and make a snap judgement about them? Make some assumptions which alter the way you act?
Welcome to Soldier for Christ.
In the Gospel of Luke chapter six verse thirty-seven Jesus is talking and He gives a solid piece of advice. He tells them to not judge, to not condemn others and to forgive others. And we as humans ask the question we ask all the time. "Why?"
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
To me this comes back to the golden rule. Right? Treat others the way you want to be treated. When we judge others we are treating them as something other than who they are. I am sure that at some point in your life this has happened to you. Remember how that feels and then next time you catch yourself making that snap judgement, flip it. Do not judge and you will not be judged.
People hurt us at times. We hold grudges and we condemn others based on past events. We need to forgive and remember that Jesus forgave us and likewise we should forgive others and not condemn them for something they have not even done.
We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God and praise be to Jesus for coming here and making the sacrifice that he did in order to release us all from condemnation and forgiving us all of our imperfections. Forgive as you have been forgiven
It's easy to make the snap judgments and to condemn others based on how we see them. It's not always easy to forgive past transgressions against us. It's something we need to work on each and every day. Look to the cross and remember what was done for you and follow the example of Jesus.
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Implementing this practices into your daily life will make it easier to ...
Press on. Fight the good fight. As a Soldier for Christ.
