Do you know what today is?

It's a special day, for me at least. And with that special day comes a task list. And with any to do list one can, if not careful, become overwhelmed.

Did you turn off the stove?

Lock the door?

Where's my coffee? Is it on top of the care?

Where are my glasses?

Did you get that report turned in?

As we go through our daily lives weather we write them down or not we check off every task we need to complete. Be it getting the kids dressed, fed, and on the bus. Or article written, spell checked and published. We have a list of things to get done every single day.

And now I don’t know about you but when my to do list gets too long… I can get overwhelmed and overcome with anxiety. And that brings us back to today.

Did you figure out why this video is so special to me?

This is the 100th video released in the mission of being a Soldier for Christ. I know right!? Wow! 100 videos. And as this milestone approached I had all sorts of ideas running through my head. I mean it's the 100th video, I need to do something spectacular, right? But what? How? There are so many other videos to write and prepare. Pre-production on each and editing and don’t get me started on my day job and then every other little thing that I can throw in there. My to do list was getting longer and longer and my anxiety over this very special video grew and grew. To the point where I almost didn't want to continue.

Then it hit me. This is the work of that ol' trixter trying to trip me up. Using my fears and anxiety to keep me from doing what I was called. Trying to keep me from spreading the news of Jesus.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. -Romans 12:21

I needed to slow down. Lean into Jesus not pull away. I had to remember this is not about me. Not about what I want but about what He has asked me to do.

In the rush to get through our days and our check lists we must always remember who we are and who's we are. I had to remember that I am a child of God , loved and forgiven by Jesus. I don’t need to have a big over the top episode to tell you that Jesus loves you. I just need to say it. He will take care of the rest.
