Not By Sight

For we live by faith, not by sight. -2nd Corinthians 5:7

Faith. Noun. 1. Confidence or trust in a person or thing. 2. Belief that is not based on proof. 3. Belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion.

One. Yes. I have confidence and trust in Jesus the Christ that came from the Father to earth and stepped in and saved me from my sin and redeemed me. Not by anything that I could have ever done to deserve it but because I love Him that first loved me.

Three. I know I skipped two, I'll get there. Yes. I believe in God the father and in the Bible and teaching therein.

Now, number two. Not sure I fully agree with this one. Belief that is not based on proof. I would suggest we have a litany of proof.

I get what Paul is saying in today's verse but if you look around you can see the works of God. You can see Him in the people places and things of this world. And in the middle east they are fining archaeological evidence all the time that prove the people, places and things of the Bible are indeed fact. And even though we

We can see all around us the very nature of God the Father who created all of this.

There are people who refuse to believe in God because of science. I say science can and is in fact proving every day that He is indeed real. While we do not need this because we do indeed have the faith that comes not by sight, it does help in showing those who's faith is not strong that there is more. That there are some things that we just cannot understand.

I saw this once and I can't remember who did it so I do not take credit but he called up on stage a man that did not believe in God but in science. He then drew a circle on a board and said that for the purpose of this we are going to say that everything that could ever be known about any and everything was inside this circle. Then he asked the non-believer to shade in how much he knew. The gentlemen shaded in barley a quarter of the circle. So then, now if this is all you know of any and everything that is knowable, isn't it then possible that God is somewhere here, in the area of things you do not know?
