Remember No More

When reading the Bible, especially if you are reading in the Old Testament you will see a lot of sacrifice. There were sacrifices for just about any and everything, including for their sin.
And they would do this, a lot. I am not going to pretend to be a scholar on the old testament Jewish traditions but just take a quick read through Numbers or Deuteronomy and you will see there was a lot of animals being sacrificed to atone for any number of things.
And then Christ came.
And when He came He shook things up. And the priest at the time, they didn’t care for it too much. They had a good thing going and Jesus was bucking the system. So they had Him killed. Hung on the cross.
When this happened Jesus went willingly as a pure and perfect sacrifice covering all of our sin forever, completely. As followers of Christ we no longer need to continually offer sacrifices for our past sins. We can know that when we confess and repent our sins are forgiven and forgotten.
Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. -Hebrews 10:17
If this statement. If this fact does not just floor you... Christ went to that cross and took our place and paid for our sins. This does not give us free reign to go out and sin more, no it is the reminder that he loved us so much. That he did not want any one of us to be lost. Why would anyone throw a gift like this away. We all have sin that needs forgiven. And we know that when we turn to Christ and accept this gift that our…
