Hero By Faith 1 of 10

Welcome to Soldier for Christ.

Beginning today and for the next 10 weeks we are going to begin a very special kind of series.

Back in 2011 I wrote a web series called Hero By Faith. It was a 10 episode season that setup a larger story. It was one of the first large scale kind of productions I had done. Working with Regardless Productions the series came together and ran in late 2011 through the first part of 2012. It was moderately successful.

Each episode started with a verse. That verse kind of setup the episode for a lesson. Today I want to look at

Hero By Faith episode 1. Where we meet Mr. Derrick Thompson, released on November 6th 2011.

Last chance.

When we first meet Mr. Thompson in this story he is running. Very active kind of guy. We later learn his is training for a marathon. We also see him primping in the mirror. Yeah, he might be kind of vain and full of himself. We also see that he has little patience for people he deems to be lower than him. He's just not a very nice guy is he?

I don’t think that our Mr. Derrick Thompson has ever heard the golden rule. All through this we see he is only looking out for number one. And I think we all have a tendency to be this way at times. It can be hard not to in the dog eat dog society we live in. Or so at least we tell ourselves.

However here is the rub. Just like with Mr. Thompson in our story here, we do not know what may be just around the corner. For him it was a car wreck. Odds are he will now depend on some people to help him. Let's hope he has not burned too many bridges along the way.

We also should remember to be kind to one another. Everyone has a story. Everyone has a situation. You have no clue what that other person is going through so take a beat and…

You never know when you may rely on others to be kind and cut you some slack when you are having an off day.
