Hero By Faith 3 of 10

Welcome to part three in our series on Hero By Faith. The web series from Regardless Productions. If you have not watched the episode yet please click over now, watch it and then come back. Otherwise I cannot be held responsible for the spoilers that come later.

Jeesh, this guy right? So impatient. So rude. Here he has just woken up after two weeks in the hospital and right away it's all me me me. Know anyone like that? Then he is hit with some really hard news. There are some of you that may be faced with this kind of situation in your life. I do not pretend to even relate to what that must be like or what situations and people you may have encountered or had to endure. For the purposes of this study though we are looking at Mr. Thompson as our protagonist. He is on a journey.

He is not thinking about God, or anyone else, only himself. And even when a counselor, the priest is there to give support, he rebuffs him. He is not seeing the support that is right there. His wife, the priest and the doctor.

* God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. But with temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. -1st Corinthians 10:13

How many times have I been faced with something that I looked to myself to try to resolve? How many times did I try to do it all on my own? Countless. How about you?

We are raised being told we can do or be anything if we work hard enough. So we take it all on ourselves. We are told we shouldn’t rely on anyone because they will let us done. So we take it all upon ourselves to do, be, accomplish whatever it may be. But the fact of the matter is we are not alone. We can't do it all on our own.

* God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. But with temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. -1st Corinthians 10:13

Have you ever heard the old joke about the guy stuck on his roof during a flood? A small boat comes by offering help. "NO!" says the man. "God will save me." Then a helicopter comes by and tosses down a latter. Again, "NO!" says the man. "God will save me." When he then drowns and goes to heaven he asks God, "Why didn't you save me?" God replies, "Who do you think sent the boat and the helicopter?

We can be the same way. Just because your help may not be a burning bush does not mean that the person offering a helping hand was not put in your path by God. He works in mysterious ways and all thing work together for his purpose and his plan
