Hero By Faith 4 of 10

He just is not willing to give anything or anybody a chance is he? Stubborn much!?

Once again our um, quote unquote hero is only thinking about what he can get. About what is in it for him.

We get a since here that the priest has been coming around a bit. Keeping tabs on him. Derrick, now out of the hospital is sinking into a hole of depression. He does not seem to have the endurance that is required for his new way of life.

* For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. - Hebrews 10:36

Will of God. This is where some people get hung up. How could God will something like this to happen. I know this is an extreme example for most of us but not for everyone. And I would answer those that would question in two ways.

One. You can not blame everything on God. The bible makes it clear that the earth is the domain of the Devil. Satan has power on this world and I would suggest to you that when someone comes along that can be an amazing ambassador, an outstanding Soldier for Christ that Satan goes on the attack against those people. Looks for their weak spots and exploits them. That is what has happened to Derrick in our story here.

Another option is this. If God has allowed something to happen to you it may be that you are meant to be in inspiration for someone else. You never know how your story may impact someone else, how it may change their lives. How you deal with and overcome and how you put your faith in God's plan can influence someone and bring more people to Christ and into glory.

We just need to be sure our faith is strong and that we have the endurance required to run the race set before us.

Endurance is gained by training. By Studying the word. By spending time with Jesus and developing that trusting, loving relationship with him.
