I think this verse was part of why I even had the idea for the show. The thought that if you have enough faith that no matter what you ask for, He would provide it. First thing I asked for was flight. It didn’t happen. Does that mean my faith is not strong enough? Not so sure.
* When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. -James 4:3
So the power of flight in my ask was solely a personal novelty that would not help to further His will at all. So I stay grounded. That same kind of request is mirrored in today's episode. But our hero has some better insight. He only wants what God is willing to give if it is for His will. And at the end his toe moves.
He had been reading the bible and came across the verse in Matthew.
* Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. -Matthew 21:22
In this case he only asked for God's will to be complete in his life. Something we should all want. Flying would be cool too but hey…
* Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these -John 14:12
We all have the capacity to do the wonderous things that Jesus did, or have we somehow lost sight of that? Sometimes I think when these kinds of things do happen we wright them off as one off's or scientific flukes.
Miracles do happen. God is still working in and for us. We just need to be sure we are willing and open to what His will is and that when he does tap us for a mission that we…
