Lose the Tude

So I want to set the scene for you.
It's a Saturday. Mid to late morning. Mid October in Texas so it's a beautiful. Warm but not hot. A few clouds pepper the sky.
I am not sure about you but around here Saturdays for the most part are when we catch up on our chores. We each have our own list of things we do. As I am going about one of the things on my list I am making trips back and forth to the tool shed. I come across my youngest Son doing one of his. Picking up the Dog... well ya know. It's a crappy job but it needs to get done. Anyway, he is obviously not happy with it and had not done a very good job. I reminded him about a high traffic spot and to make sure he did another pass in that area. Eyes were rolling! And I was all like, "lets drop the attitude." I reminded him that no one likes doing chores but they need to get done. It's part of our job as members of the family. Each of us doing our part is what helps to make the house a home.
It wasn't until later that it hit me. Lose the attitude.
God put us here with a job to do. Sometimes the path we must take to get where we need to be is not fun. But as part of the family of God it's our job. Us doing what needs to be done is what helps to make sure the Church lives, grows and makes it a home. So lose the attitude.
Or better yet, get a new one...
* to be made new in the attitude of your minds; - Ephesians 4:23
* May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, - Romans 15:5
When we turn to Christ we can rely on him to change us from the inside. And when that happens it is reflected on the outside. And when that happens people take notice. They will want to know what makes you so happy so they to can be happy. And we can tell them that it's Jesus. Jesus that makes us new and give us joy!
So... Lose the attitude.
Press on. Fight the good fight, as a Soldier for Christ.
