Suffer

So take a candle and light it. Hold your hand over it. It's warm, at first. Then it starts to get hot. If you leave your hand there long enough you would start to suffer the heat. Get a blister or worse.

For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him - Philippians 1:29

But we don’t want to suffer. We like it when things are easy. Right. But we cant always have it easy. Sometimes we have to make the hard choices. The choice to do what is right, over what is easy. The choice to do good even if it hurts us.

For it is better, if it is Godʼs will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. -1st Peter 3:17

And when we make that hard call and do the right thing for God's will, for His purpose he knows it and Job tells us that when we do…

those who suffer he delivers in their suffering; he speaks to them in their affliction. -Job 36:15

God will have your back. You must trust in Him and His plan for you. And don’t think like you are the only one to ever have to suffer

Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” - Luke 24:26

I would dare to say Jesus suffered much more then we would ever have to. He paid the ultimate price, for us.
