Today we are going to wrap up the series that has kicked off this mission. As we wrap up this opening series I want to talk about commitment.
We have taken the first step.
We have put our faith and trust in the Lord and are setting out to obey The Great Commission.
We have put on the armor of Christ and now we have to commit to the plan.
Often times when starting a new venture the first few outings are the best.
But then something happens.
You miss one and then another and then it starts to take a back seat and next thing you know you have not done it in months.
I am not just talking about that new year's resolutions to work out more.
People can be harsh in todays world and very critical of anything they may not fully agree with. That is why we must be committed to the truth.
Like anything being a Soldier for Christ takes commitment.
Sticking with it can be a difficult task when you get constant push back and ridicule from non believers.
And it seems in today's electronic society and always on instant gratification generation the number of those who choose not to believe is growing.
That’s why we do this.
We have to fight back.
Proverbs 16:3 tells us to Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
We have to spread the word. Let them know that the things of this world are temporary.
That they will not last.
But for those that accept the gift that Jesus gave us, we will see eternal glory with him.
As you move into this new week, commit to fighting the good fight. Commit to staying on task and if you are facing an issue or know someone that could use some encouragement, Commit to sharing the good news with them. Commit to taking that extra few minutes to say a prayer or read a passage.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this. -Psalm 37:5
Commit, and he will help you through.
He will help you
The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. - Zephaniah 3:17
Press on and fight the good fight as a Soldier for Christ!
