Did ya ever want more? I know I have. Do. It seems to be a part of human nature to want more. To want better. And I don't necessarily think there is anything wrong with that. I think that partly that helps to push you. To encourage you to do better. But when we want more just for the sake of wanting, well that's when it can cause negative effects on our life. you can become depressed. Paul tells us in his letter to the Philippians that it's important to be content. He told them...

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. -Philippians 4:12-13

He learned the secret. It may be the worst kept secret of all time. To trust in God and know that he will provide. To trust in him who gives you life. When you can do this it will not matter if you don't have the latest and greatest whatever. He will be sure you have just what you need to accomplish the mission he has for you. And this is one of those things that easier said then done. With the materialistic nature of our society.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” -Hebrews 13:5

So if that paycheck is short just know that he is still there and that when you trust in him to see you through he will not let you down. And when you can be content with what he provides and give the glory to him well...

godliness with contentment is great gain. -1 Timothy 6:6

So press on. Fight the good fight, as a Soldier for Christ.
