Have you ever heard of the Golden Rule? Of course you have. Everyone has. We learn it as little kids.
* Do to others as you would have them do to you. - Luke 6:31
It seems so simple doesn't it? Just like ya know, if it's not something you wouldn't like, then don't do it to someone else. But I tell ya if you interact with society at all you know that this rule is not in play. People can be rude and insulting. Why do we do this? Are we simply looking out for number one? But then who is number one? It should be God. And if he is our number one then following this rule would not be a chore but something we strive to do, in everything...
* So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. -Matthew 7:12
That's it. That one sentence sums up the law. Could you imagine a world where everyone followed this one law. It seems simple enough. So as you begin this week, and head out into the world. Remember this simple law. See how it changes the way you interact with the barista, the clerk at the dry cleaners, the cashier at the grocery store, the insert a person you meet here. Treat them the way you want them to treat you. You never know how a few kind words may turn someone's day around. And then they may think twice before they interact with someone and changes that persons day and so on and so on.
* “The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head. -Obadiah 1:15
Follow the golden rule this week. After all, it's the law.
Press on. Fight the good fight. As a Soldier for Christ.
