Wouldn't it be great if you knew beforehand how something would turn out? I mean, if you were thinking about buying a new car but you knew beforehand that it was going to be a lemon, you wouldn't buy that one, you would choose a better one. Ever tried to paddle a boat up river? Against the current? It can be done for sure it it is a lot harder then going where the river would take you. And as humans we tend to do this with our lives. We tend to try to go against the flow of what we can often times feel we should be doing. We don't want to feel we are not in control of our own lives and we try to map out everything we do.
*In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps. -Proverbs 16:9
He has set the path for us. Where he needs us to be. He has established our steps but we keep on trying to do things our own way. We keep trying to paddle the boat of our lives upstream. And it's hard. But we are in control. Right? And then the current gets a little stronger and we paddle harder and the stress of life builds and it just keeps piling up around us. When all we need to do is to turn the boat around.
*Humble yourselves, therefor, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. -1st Peter 5: 6-7
Turn the boat around. Let God guide your steps. Let his plan unfold at the pace He has set. Don;t try to force things to suite your goals and desires. I learned that with this show. I had wanted a camera for so long but never had one. Only when I was ready to take this step to server His plan was I afforded the opportunity to be able to get the camera I am using now to create this show. I had to let it unfold on God time not on my time. His plan is perfect, mine, well not so much.
Don't try to swim upstream. Tell God your fears and because he cares for you, he will take care of you. He will make sure that when you are ready, you will be able to handle it. One of the pastors at my church told me something one time that has stuck with me. He said, God does not call the equipped. He equips the called. That will preach!
So go with the flow. Press on. Fight the good fight, as a Soldier for Christ.
