Riches

Show of hands. Who here would love to have a million dollars in the bank? If your hand is not in the air right now you are probably dead. Or already have a million dollars in the bank. And if you do, congrats. And you notice my hand was up. Yeah who wouldn't love a million bucks. But is that the goal in life? To acquire money and treasures here on earth?

* My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. -Colossians 2:2-3

But that's not the kind of riches we want. I cant get the n ew iPhone with that. How am I supposed to walk into the dealership and buy a car with that? But hold on.

*Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. -2 Corinthians 4:16-17

Ya get it yet? All the things of this world are temporary and will not last. When the day of judgement comes and we are called home, our true home all the money in the bank all the fancy phones and cars wont matter. You can not take them with you. how many times you heard that? But it's true. None of this stuff, and it is just stuff matters. What matters is how we treat our fellow man. And by man I mean every other man woman and child on this Earth. When you do for the least of them, you are putting something far more valuable than money into a bank that will never close.

*But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. -Matthew 6:20

Treasures in heaven. That's where we need to be saving our riches.
