The Past

Do you remember that one time we did that one thing? Yeah, I wish I hadn't done that.
Soooo yeah. I have a past. I would venture to guess that maybe even some of you watching this have a past. A past we are not so proud of. In our youth, or at least in my youth I made some choices that looking back on were not really in my best interest. Choices that looking back, i would do differently now.
I remember my afflictions and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion's never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
- Lamentations 3:19-23
No one like to remember that stuff. But knowing where you came from, to me makes knowing where you are going now that much sweeter. Knowing that because I have given my life over to him, and knowing how much he loves me and what he as done for all of us. Makes me joyful in hope.
So while you may remember those past deeds, look forward to the compassion's from the Lord, they never fail and are new every morning. His faithfulness to us is great and his love for us knows not limits. And you can use that joy from him to show others that they can move on to a new life in Jesus. They they can Press on. Fight the good fight. As a Soldier for Christ.
