Alone

Nobody wants to be alone. It is ingrained into who we are to find someone, to be with someone and to have relationships with others. And yet when we follow the example of Christ we see there are times when it's okay to separate ourselves if only for a little while.

Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. -Luke 5:16

We see several times that when he would pray he isolated himself. These times of being alone with God the father help to establish that line of communication with him that is important. Having time set aside in the mornings to have that prayer time to be with Him to meditate on his word and his will is a great way to start the day.

At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. -Luke 4:42

Just as starting you day this way is important, so is ending your day this way.

After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, -Matthew 14:23

Jesus shows us that we are to pray often and, at least to me by separating yourself from the rest of the flow of the day helps you to put the focus where it should be. To unplug and truly be with God in that time.

So this week, try to make it a point to unplug at some point and spend some time alone with God.

Press On. Fight the good fight, as a Soldier for Christ.
